sippy cup
I didn't introduce Lauren to a sippy cup till it was almost time to be off the bottle and she hated it and threw a fit, decided I would introduce Lyndsey at a much younger age and she did pretty good for the first day---she only had water in it, wait till she gets juice!!!

Where does time go??
Lyndsey has learned how to do two of my favorite things this week.... She is starting to hold out her arms when you hold out your hands to her, I LOVE this because it means she knows who we are and she WANTS us to hold her and she is starting to lay her head on your shoulder when she gets tired while being held. The other day I was holding her and she started to fall asleep and had both of her arms wrapped around my neck and was twirling my hair and all I could think was AWWW.. I could die a happy woman. It seems like for so many months they do absolutely nothing and I complain about it, then all of the sudden it is something new everyday and I think--time is going by too fast. I was actually looking through the sale ads for things for her and Sara for CHRISTMAS, even though it is 3 months away I will close my eyes and it will be here.
Lyndsey has been going to softball and basketball games since birth and now we are going to volleyball games so she is pretty used to the whole sports thing, so I was so thrilled this weekend when she sat through most of the longhorn game on Saturday and the cowboy game on Sunday and this is her reaction when it was over.........

1st win

Lauren's volleyball team had their first win tonight, in case you are a volleyball idiot like me, that means they won 2 games to take "the win". All the girls played really well--I can't believe how much the coaches have taught them in just a few short weeks. Lauren even served the last 7 points in the second game! I never dreamed I would be into this but I am getting a kick out of watching my kid play.

rough day....
Lyndsey came home from daycare and we went through our normal routine for the evening and when it was time to play in her walker this is what she did instead.......

Today was Lauren's 1st ever volleyball game, she has never even so much as picked up a volleyball in her life and she played really well. The team lost both games by just a few points but I am so impressed with the ability of these young girls. I have never been much of a volleyball supporter and sure wasn't excited about sitting through a season of it but I think I have been converted (possibly because my daughter is on the team). So, here's to a great first night and to an awesome season----GO LMS LIONS!!!!

5 months old already...

WOW, I can't believe it, Lyndsey is 5 months old today and she has had a pretty eventful day. At daycare she rolled over for the first time from her back to her stomach and then when we got home this evening she rolled from her stomach to her back. She has also discovered her feet which are nonstop in the air with her trying to reach her mouth. She loves just about any food we give her, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and she melts my heart when she giggles. These 5 months have just flown by and I am sure the next 5 will too...reminds me to stop wishing my days away...time doesn't stand still for a minute!!!
